Avon Metallic Effects Nail Enamel : Icy Purple ~ Review & Swatch

I have tried Avon nail polish only recently and I reviewed a gorgeous emerald shade (middle in pic above) previously in THIS post. Here I am reviewing a beautiful purple silver shade from Metallic effects collection – Icy Purple

Price: Rs 249 for 8 ml

Avon Metallic Effects Nail Enamel Icy Purple review

Avon Metallic effects nail enamel comes in rectangular packaging with shade name written on the front. The brush is short and decent, not too bad not too great either. The straight tip makes the application messy around the cuticles. I always prefer rounded brush (like in THIS nailpolish).

Icy Purple is a beautiful silver – purple color with a slightly frosty, chrome finish. This is a unique color which is not spotted in other brands easily. The formula is rich and creamy with metallic/foil finish. The consistency is great, neither thick nor thin. The pigmentation is excellent and gives full opacity in two thin coats (or one thick coat). Like any other metallic polishes, the brush strokes are visible but it can be minimised if you apply it carefully and neatly. This nail polish dries quickly.

This is not very long lasting nail polish. Minor tip wear starts next day itself. But then I don’t wear top coat and you can extend the wear time by applying a top coat. Also, the shine starts to dull after 2-3 days.

Overall, Avon Metallic effects nail enamel in Icy Purple is a beautiful silver-purple color with chrome like finish. It is superbly pigmented and needs 2 thin coats for full color. However, the brush strokes are visible so you need to apply it carefully. It dries quickly and shine stays put for 2-3 days after which it starts to dull. The only drawback I could find is that these are not long lasting. But an additional top coat can always prolong the wear time. I am in love with the unique color and I will definitely repurchase this again
