L’Oreal Paris Tint Caresse were launched quite a while back and I immediately bought the shade Rose Blossom from the range. Price – Rs 1050 for 0.9 g

L’Oreal Paris Tint Caresse Rose Blossom Review

L’Oreal Paris Tint Caresse lipstick come in quite an interesting packaging. It was probably the first sponge tip powder lipstick launched back in the day. L’Oreal Paris Tint Caresse comes in attractive gold and red gradient packaging which looks luxurious at first sight. It is elongated, cylindrical, sleek and shuts tight with screw mechanism. Like all L’Oreal lipsticks, it comes wrapped in plastic transparent sheet which contain all the important info about the product.

The gradient color on the packaging is color coded to the shade of the tint, so it is easier to spot if you have multiple shades. The interesting part about the packaging is that the main body of the lipstick contain only the dome shaped sponge tip applicator. The actual lipstick is inside the cap. The sponge cushion is of good quality and does not flake after continued applications. The applicator is different from the ones in THIS and THIS lipstick. Plus it is very convenient and easy to use, especially around edges and corners. The applicator has an inbuilt spring in the tube which ensures proper coating of lipstick on the sponge tip from the cap when you shut it. The shade name is written along the end of the product. The overall packaging looks high end and prettifies the vanity.

When this lipstick came out, Korean gradient lips were in trend and the sponge tip helps to achieve the look, where maximum intensity of color is at the centre of the lips and the intensity fades out along the edges. The sponge cushion tip does a great job in creating that gradient effect.

Since these lipsticks are marketed not as ‘lipsticks’ but as tints, the pigmentation is low but gives a nice blotted effect in 1-2 swipes. It needs 3-4 passes to build the full color intensity. It glides effortlessly and doesnot feel you are wearing anything on lips AT ALL. Unlike THESE lip stains by The Body Shop which are water based, L’Oreal Paris Tint Caresse are powder based and even during application you donot feel you are applying a lip product. It is extremely light weight and neither dries, nor hydrates the lips. As this is a tint, it doesnot transfer. The fragrance is fruity which is not bothersome and doesnot linger for long. It gives a soft matte finish which doesnot emphasize fine lines like other matte lipsticks do.

The shade Rose Blossom is a beautiful warm red with orange tones. The blotted effect it gives in 1-2 swipes makes it ideal for daily use.

Unfortunately, L’Oreal Paris Tint Caresse doesnot last very long. It starts to fade after a light meal, and completely vanishes if you have a heavy oily meal. Without meal, it stays for good 5-6 hours.

The price is also a con. It is quite expensive for the product quantity (0.9 g!) it comes in.

Overall, this is a fancy lip product with an amazing and innovative packaging concept, but it is not a necessity in my opinion. I have reviewed similar lipstick shades by Kiko Milano (HERE) and The Body Shop stain (HERE).

I’m wearing THIS nailpolish by Kiko here.

L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick : Vin Exquis ~ Review & Swatch

L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique lipstick range was launched in summers this year and I instantly fell in love with this shade. This range is not available in L’Oreal counters and neither is any official information available on L’Oreal Paris website about this range (which is strange btw). So these lipsticks are available only online. Rouge Magique range was launched with 12 shades and I am reviewing a gorgeous pink purple color- Vin Exquis

Price: Rs 650

L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick Vin Exquis Review

L’Oreal Rouge Magique lipstick comes in attractive black and metallic pink packaging, which looks very vibrant. The metallic pink of the packaging reminds me of THIS nailpolish from Heavy Metal nailpolish from Colorbar 😀 The lower half of lipstick is black colored and matte in finish. The lid is metallic pink in color and glossy in finish. The shade name is stickered at the bottom and the range name is printed at the front of lipstick. The cap clicks shut tight so it does not come off in bags. The lipstick bullet is normal swivel-up and works smoothly. The bullet is quite sturdy and does not break from the base as other lipsticks from L’Oreal (Pure Rouge and Mattemoist) range *touch wood*

Formula wise, these are velvety matte lipstick These are more matte than L’Oreal ‘Moist Matte’ lipstick range. These are slightly creamy in finish so it does not settle into crazy dry-your-lips kind of matte finish. These lipstick are very comfortable to wear and looks completely matte at the same time. The lips do not feel parched when this lipstick is on. It glides smoothly on the lips and needs no effort in application like some extremely matte lipsticks.

Vin Exquis is a gorgeous plum purple shade with slightly pink tones. This shade instantly brightens up the face. The pigmentation is intense but you need two swipes for even coverage. It is not completely transfer proof and will transfer slightly, specially when freshly applied.  But the color stays put until you eat a full meal or oil based food. When it starts to lighten it leaves a beautiful plum color stain. It stays on my lips for 3-4 hours after which it starts to fade and even at the end of the day I can still see a nice plum color stain on my lips. However, it does get into fine lines of the lips.

This is a gorgeous plum color which is perfect for evening and festive season apart from being a beautiful Fall color. L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique lipstick in shade Vin Exquis is very similar to Nykaa So Matte lipstick in Mischievous Plum. Mischievous Plum is tad darker and more purple and Vin Exquis is more vibrant and has more pink tones. I have swatched them both below.

Overall, L’Oreal Paris Rouge Magique Lipstick in shade Vin Exquis is a gorgeous plum purple color with slightly creamy finish. The pigmentation is great but needs 2 swipes for even coverage. It stays put for 3-4 hours and fades into a beautiful plum color stain. The metallic pink packaging is attractive and vibrant. These lipsticks are very comfortable to wear. But they do settle into fine lines. This makes a gorgeous shade for Fall and I already can’t stop wearing it enough. I am in love with this shade and will definitely repurchase this.

Nykaa So Matte! Lipstick : Mischievous Plum~ Review & Swatch

Nykaa launched So Matte lipstick range last year in winters and I immediately picked up my favorite shade from the collection. I am reviewing this gorgeous plum purple shade: Mischievous Plum.

Price: Rs 399 for 4.2 g

Nykaa So Matte! Lipstick Mischievous Plum review

The packaging of Nykaa So Matte lipsticks is quite interesting. The lipstick tube is  matte, black and cuboidal with Nykaa logo engraved in silver. The shade name is stickered at the bottom. It comes with magnetic closure and this is the first lipstick in this price range to come with magnetic closure. For the price, the packaging is very chic.

Formula wise, these are NOT matte or semi-matte. These are creamy lipstick and so it does not settle into crazy dry-your-lips kind of matte finish. These have a bit of shine when applied and are very comfortable to wear. It glides smoothly on the lips and needs no effort in application like some extremely matte lipsticks. It has a faint vanilla fragrance.

Mischievous plum is a gorgeous plum purple shade with slightly pink tones. The pigmentation is intense and gives opaque coverage in one swipe. However, it does settle into lip lines after a few hours. Being creamy it does transfer on glasses, cups (*ahem* or your better half  😉 ) but even then the color almost stays put until you eat a full meal or oil based food. When it starts to lighten it leaves a beautiful berry pink stain. It stays on my lips for 4-5 hours after which it starts to fade and even at the end of the day I can still see a nice pink stain on my lips.

This is a beautiful color and if you want to try such deep, purple shade for the first time, start with this lipstick as it has pink tones and doesnot look OTT.

Overall, Nykaa So Matte lipstick in Mischievous Plum is a gorgeous plum purple color with creamy finish. The pigmentation is great and applies like a dream in one swipe itself. It stays put for 4-5 hours and fades into a beautiful pink stain. The black, cuboid packaging with magnetic closure is classy.  The name of this lipstick is misleading , these are not matte but creamy lipsticks. So if you are looking for complete matte finish, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a bold, purple shade which is wearable and not OTT, this lipstick is the one. This makes a gorgeous shade for Fall.
