Glitter nailpolishes scream party and with all the festivity in the air, they are perfect to adorn at this time of the year. Party Girl collection from Maybelline colorshow has been around for sometime and I have already reviewed 3 of the shades: Tequila Sunrise, Fireworks and Party Lights. In this post I am reviewing another gorgeous shade: Rock the Night 117

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish Rock the Night 117 Review

Rock the Night 117 is a beautiful dark blue nail polish with dark blue  hexagonals and golden shimer suspended in a sheer blue base. The nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful golden-peacock bluish sheen. Maybelline Party girl range of nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. The dark blue hexagonals against a blue base gives an overall  diffused shimmer to this shade.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer. But if applied properly,  one coat looks beautiful on its own.

Rock the Night 117 being glitter nailpolish, its removal can be quite a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE.

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite okay, as I don’t expect these polish to be super long lasting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall, Rock the Night 117 is a beautiful dark blue glitter nailpolish with a golden-peacock blue sheen. This nailpolish is loaded with glitter and 2 coats give full coverage. This is a beautiful color to glamour up the nails. Party Lights range of Maybelline Colorshow is my favorite so far and I will keep on repurchasing the shades.

Revlon Nail Enamel : Splash ~ Review & Swatch

Revlon launched Glitzy Nights range last year and I picked this beautiful black-green glitter nailpolish from the range. I have reviewed the Revlon Colorstay range  previously and I absolutely LOVED it. You can check the review HERE.

Revlon Nail Enamel: Splash 507 review

Revlon Glitzy Nights Nail Enamel comes in classic Revlon Nail enamel glass bottle with black cap and gold detailing. The shade name is stickered on top.

The shade 507 Splash is a beautiful black- green glitter nailpolish with golden, green glitter suspended in sheer black base. The nailpolish is loaded with glitter and the brush picks up enough for uniform application.  The glitter is medium sized and not too chunky. It looks holographic in bottle, but not too much on the nails. The consistency is thick but it helps in applying the glitter uniformly on the nails. One coat is slightly sheer and 2 thick coats give full opacity. The brush is not great  and is rather thin. I hate thin brush in nailpolish as it leads to streaking and uneven application. But Splash being a glitter nailpolish, the streaks are not much visible.

These nailpolish stay put for 3 days with minimal tip wear, which is quite impressive as most nailpolish start to wear off by 3-4th day.

Overall, Revlon Glitzy night Nail Enamel in shade 507 Splash is a beautiful golden-green glitter in black base. The glitter are medium sized and does not tug or pull. The stay of this nailpolish is impressive and stays on for 3-4 days with minimal tip wear. However, the brush is too thin for my liking. Also, the price is on the higher side. Other than that, this is a gorgeous party color, especially if you like dark colors.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Party Lights 118 ~ Swatch & Review

Every girl must own a few glitter polish to glamour up the nails every now and then, and Maybelline has some amazing glitter nailpolish selection. Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year in their Colorshow range. This range has gorgeous glitter shades with different color palette. I have already reviewed two shades of this range before : Tequila Sunrise (1st in pic above) and Fireworks (3rd in pic above). In this post I am reviewing another beautiful shade: Party Lights 118

Party Lights 118 is a beautiful silverish purple color nail polish with purple hexagonals and glitter suspended in a purple base. The nailpolish has silver shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful silverish sheen making it look like foil nailpolish. This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. The purple glitter and hexagonals doesnot look stark against the base color like in other shades of this range. Instead, it gives a beautiful diffused shimmer to this shade.

Overall, this is a beautiful purple glitter nailpolish with a silverish sheen. This nailpolish is loaded with glitter and 2-3 coats give full coverage. This is a beautiful color to glamour up the nails. I will probably repurchase this when this bottle gets over.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Fireworks 114 ~ Swatch & Review

Maybelline launched this range of nailpolish last year and I have reviewed the shade Tequila Sunrise (a gorgeous rose gold color, first in the pic above) before. In this post I am reviewing another gorgeous party shade ‘Fireworks 114‘

 

 

Price: Rs 175

Fireworks 114 is a berry pink colored nail polish with chunks of glitter. This nailpolish has magenta, black and golden micro shimmer with golden and magenta chunky hexagonals suspended in a semi transparent dark pink base. The overall color is a beautiful glittery dark pink with golden glitters. The glitters and hexagonal chunks in this nailpolish remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. This is semi transparent  nailpolish in single coat and gives full opacity with 2 coats.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat.

The shade is bit deeper in reality than in the swatches below.

Overall, this is a beautiful deep pink glitter nailpolish which will go out with most traditional Indian outfits as they tend to have some element of red/pink in them. I will definitely repurchase this when this bottle gets over.

Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year towards the end and I have been meaning to review them on my blog ever since. This is such a stunning collection and anyone who loves glitter polish will go bonkers. I myself had to control myself from buying too many shades (I only picked 4 :P) I will review the shades I have and here I am reviewing my favorite shade from the collection : Tequila Sunrise 112

Tequila Sunrise 112 is a beautiful rose gold-pinkish nail polish with rose gold hexagonals and glitter. The nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful rose gold sheen. This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer, but it is high on golden shimmer so you can wear one coat also.

The shade is more golden and light pink as compared too swatches below which are more pink and less gold.

Maybelline Colorshow Gold Digger nail polish ~ Gilded Rose 903: Review & Swatch

Maybelline has an entire range on gold themed nail colors: Gold Digger Collection, and I am reviewing a beautiful peach color nailpolish from this range ~ Gilded Rose 903

I have reviewed the first three shades in the pic above HERE, HERE and HERE

Gilded Rose 903 is a peach colored nail polish with sugar texture. 

It comes in classic Colorshow packaging: cylindrical transparent bottle with black cap and name engraved on top. The brush is decent but not great. Gilded Rose is a peach colored nail polish with peach and golden shimmer. This is not as bling shade as some of the OTHERS in this collection, but it is a good shade if you like subtle colors. However, this shade can make hands look dark, so try it at the counters before you purchase.

People confuse this shade of Gold Digger collection with  ‘Pink Champagne’ shade of the previous Glitter Mania collection. There is a difference between the two shades, the latter being more blingy and rose gold in color, and Gilded rose is peachy in color with toned down bling. Also, there is no chunky glitter in Gilded Rose. The texture however, is the same. Personally, I like Pink Champagne shade more.

This is not a top coat, and it takes 2-3 coats to build the color. The tip wear starts after 3-4 days. Being a glitter nailpolish, its removal is quite a pain. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall, this is a good color if you like subtle colors with toned down bling. This is a great office appropriate color in my opinion. But it may make hands look dark, so try it on your nails first.

Maybelline Colorshow Gold Digger nail polish ~ Gold Gluttony 905: Review & Swatch

 

Maybelline has an entire range on gold themed nail colors: Gold Digger Collection, and I am reviewing a stunning top coat from this range ~ Gold Gluttony 905

I have reviewed the first two shades in the pic above HERE and HERE

Gold Gluttony is a transparent nail polish with chunks of gold flakes of different sizes. This is a top coat and looks great on both light as well as dark base colors. This is a no-fuss nail polish which can take your manicure up a notch in no time.

It comes in classic Colorshow packaging: cylindrical transparent bottle with black cap and name engraved on top. The brush is decent but not great. I think the brush could have been wider to pick such chunky gold leaves effectively. Sometimes, I am left with only 1-2 gold specks in one coat and so have to place the gold flakes individually on each nail. Also, using multiple coats to load up on the bling makes it gloopy and slow to dry.

Other than that, it is a great nail polish to bling up the manicure. I always wanted a nailpolish like this- gold chunky leaf glitter, and this one is a great budget option to have.

Maybelline Colorshow Gold Digger ~ Oh-My-Gold! 904 : Review & Swatch

 

Maybelline launched Gold Digger Collection in their Colorshow nail polish a while back. I will be reviewing a few of their shades in a series of posts. I had reviewed a beautiful top coat from this range- Bling Thing 902 earlier and here I am reviewing a gorgeous silvery gold color from this range ~ Oh-My-Gold! 904.

 

 

Price: Rs 145

Oh-My-Gold 904 is silvery gold nail polish with gold specks and glitter. The golden glitter and specks get masked by the silvery polish which gives a muted shimmer effect to the whole look, which I love!  This is a metallic nail polish, which is neither silver nor golden, but somewhere in between.

One coat is opaque enough, but I apply 2 coats anyways. It dries fairly quick.

The glitter and golden specks are not too out there and gives a beautiful diffused shine.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottlewith black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. The glitter in this nailpolish remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish.

I am right handed, so my polishes start to chip early on my right hand. I could see minor tip wear from this polish starting next day on my right hand (which happens with almost ALL the nailpolishes) and proper chipping in 4 days. But nail polish on my left hand stayed put for 5 days (!),  and so I am impressed with the staying power of this polish.

Overall, Oh-My-Gold 904 is a beautiful silvery-gold color with muted shimmer and specks which gives a beautiful overall diffused shine. If you wear metallic colors like silver and gold, do check this one out. I love this shade and will definitely repurchase it.

Tutorial: Removing Glitter Nail polish

So, who does not want some sparkle in their life (or their nails). Sure the sparkle in life can be added by the better half (remember when the aunties say…oooh you have a twinkle in ur eyeees… or.. oooh you have a glow on ur faceee… what is the secreeet…tell us, tell us… irritating!! )

But are you among the one who think twice to bring the sparkle to your nails? Are you one such person who loves glitter nail polishes but avoids them altogether ‘coz of the horrors in removing them?

Worry not girls… Blossom to the rescue!  😀

The Colorshow Glitter Mania range that Maybelline launched a couple of months ago brought glitter polishes back in trend. And here’s how you can enjoy flaunting your glittery tips without worrying for the pain-in-the-ass task of removing them.

Now the traditional way of removing nail polish with cotton balls/ pads doesnot work with these. The glitter will shred the cotton and it will take forever to remove polish from one nail only, let alone both hands. I tell you a simple way to remove such nasty polishes (well not simple but it sure does work) =)

Things you need:

 

Steps:

1. Soak a cotton ball with nail polish remover and place it on your nail. Ensure that it covers the entire nail.

 

 2. Cover the cotton covered finger with foil

3. Repeat for all ten fingers

It may get difficult to wrap the fingers in other hand after finishing the ones in first hand with all the foiled tips. I cut the required foil pieces beforehand to make it easier.

4. Hold for 2-3 minutes. By the time you finish with all ten nails, the first nail you wrapped should be done.

5. Remove the foil by swiping the entire thing off your nail. Apply light pressure as you do so.

Most of the glitter should be out

6. A small amount will get left out on the nails. Use the other side of the soaked cotton ball to remove it.

And that’s it. It may look messy or time consuming at first, but believe me it is WAY better and easier than doing it the conventional way with cotton ball.

If you feel you are wasting too much of the remover, use the other side of used cotton to remove nailpolish on your toe nails.
