Colorbar Arteffects Nail Lacquer ~ Pepper Pink : Review & Swatch

Colorbar relaunched its entire nailpolish collection as ‘1001 shades of Love‘ and I bought a few shades (Haul post HERE). I have previously reviewed a gorgeous burnt orange shade ‘Italian Spice’ HERE. In this post I am reviewing a beautiful speckled nailpolish from the Arteffects range – Pepper Pink.

Price: Rs 199 for 10 ml

Expiry : 3 years

Colorbar Arteffects Nail Lacquer Pepper Pink Review

  • Colorbar has not revamped the packaging, it is the same as previous bottle, only with a couple of tweaks. The colorbar logo now has a heart instead of ‘B’, and the cap of the nail polish is brown chrome color with new hearts logo of Colorbar on top. Other than this, the packaging and the brush is same as their last packaging (Read more about packaging and brush HERE)
  • Being a speckled polish, pigmentation is semi sheer and gives decent opacity in 2 coat. The semi sheer consistency brings out the hexagonals beautifully.
  • The formula is creamy and non streaky.
  • It dries quick.
  • Pepper Pink is a beautiful soft pastel pink color with matte flecks of small black glitter, medium glitter and large hexagonals of different sizes. The swatches below are 2 coats.

Psssst, check a top coat of chunky black and golden glitter by Maybelline HERE

  • Pricewise this is a good buy for the quantity.
  • Colorbar claims it is formulated with a 7-free formulawithout formaldehydes, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, camphor, paraben, and xylene.
  • The removal part is quite a pain, but you can use a peel off base coat (like the one reviewed HERE), or use the foil method of glitter removal (Tutorial HERE). It will save you a lot of time and effort as the small glitter is hard to remove on its own.

Nykaa has a similar speckled nailpolish collection- Cookie Crumble and you may find a dupe for this nailpolish. Pricewise, nailpolish from both the brands are equally priced.

Colorbar 1001 Shades of Love Nail Lacquer ~ 412 Italian Spice : Review & Swatch

Colorbar has recently launched its ‘1001 Shades of Love’ collection and I bought a few shades from Colorbar’s official website. See the shades I picked in Haul post HERE.  I am reviewing a gorgeous brownish orange shade – Italian Spice in this post.

Price: Rs 199 for 10 ml

Expiry: 3 years

Colorbar  Nail Lacquer Italian Spice Review

  • Colorbar has relaunched its entire nail polish collection as ‘1001 Shades of Love’. These 1001 Shades are categorized under different range : Luxe range, Matte range, Arteffects range etc. Italian Spice is from the normal range of Colorbar nail lacquer.
  • Colorbar has not revamped the packaging, it is the same as previous bottle, only with a couple of tweaks. The colorbar logo now has a heart instead of ‘B’, and the cap of the nail polish is brown chrome color with new hearts logo of Colorbar on top. Other than this, the packaging and the brush is same as their last packaging (Read more about packaging and brush HERE)
  • Pigmentation is amazing and gives full opacity in 1 coat. I still apply two coats for better wear time.
  • Consistency is creamy and application is uniform and non streaky. It dries quick.
  • Italian Spice is a beautiful burnt orange/ rust color with glossy finish. This shades reminds me of Halloween and will make a pretty Fall color.
  • Colorbar’s website depicts this color as proper brown, but in reality this is more orange than brown. If you buy through the Colorbar official website, don’t trust the colors shown there.
  • Pricewise this is a good buy for the quantity.
  • Colorbar claims it is formulated with a 7-free formula: without formaldehydes, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, camphor, paraben, and xylene

Pssst, if you are looking for similar shade in a lip product, check out THIS liquid lipstick by Chambor.

Colorbar Arteffects- 24 Carat Gold Nail Lacquer ~ Olive Gold : Review & Swatch

I bought a few shades from 24 ct range of Colorbar nailpolish when they hadn’t revamped their nailpolish packaging. This is an amazing range with wide variety of gold shades. But now Colorbar has rebranded these shades under their Arteffects nailpolish range.  The packaging of Olive Gold is like the pic above. I have already reviewed other gorgeous shades from Arteffects 24 ct range – Liquid Gold, Pinken Gold.

Price: Rs 350 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Olive Gold Review

Colorbar has now standardized the nailpolish packaging. The swatch pics below are of old packaging. The new packaging looks like THIS and is thick, cube glass bottle which feels heavy. The brush is short and stout but wide enough to pick enough product for 1 coat application. The shade name is stickered at the bottom.

Olive gold as the name suggests is a beautiful yellow toned gold color with faint olive tones. It has a very faint pearly finish  which makes it more attractive. The consistency is quite sheer and takes 3 coats for full opacity. It dries very quickly and by the time you are done with first coat on all fingers, you can immediately start with next coat.

Colorbar claimed 24 ct range had duochrome effect, and to be honest I didn’t see any duochrome action with this nailpolish. But this is a beautiful shade nevertheless. Olive Gold is my favorite kind of gold color and if you like such shades, definitely check this one. This nailpolish will suit all skin tones across all age groups.

Wear time for this nailpolish is okay and chipping starts after 3-4 days. Price wise, it is okay for the quantity (12 ml).

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nailpolish: Silver Glimmer ~ Review & Swatch

I have been a fan of Kiko and Maybelline nailpolish and I don’t have many Lakme nailpolish. It never occurred to me to check out Lakme’s nailpolish collection, until recently when I spotted a beautiful rose gold shade among many other shades in display. After trying the rose gold shade  (which will be reviewed soon), I purchased a couple more shades after a few days. Silver Glimmer shade is a recent purchase which I am reviewing in this post. I have many silver looking nailpolish (like THIS and THIS one) but I didn’t have a proper silver shade. This is my first true silver nailpolish.

Price: Rs 400 for 15 ml

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist nail polish Silver Glimmer Review

Lakme Absolute gel nailpolish come in a big cylindrical glass bottle with long matte black cap. The shade name is stickered along the side of cap and price is written at bottom. The brush is wide but straight (not rounded like THESE) which makes the application uneven especially around the curve of nails. The brush picks up enough nailpolish to cover entire nail in one stroke.

As the name suggests, Silver Glimmer is a beautiful silver color nailpolish with silver microshimmer. Silver is an evergreen color which can be rocked in Spring as well as Fall, on traditional as well as western attire, as everyday color or in functions. Lakme Absolute Gel nailpolish in shade Silver Glimmer has mini holographic glitter which is more visible in the bottle and adds an overall beautiful effect on the nails. The added shimmer makes this a dazzling color. Metallic colors like silver tend to be streaky, but Silver Glimmer being a shimmer polish, hides the streaks.

The texture is neither too liquid nor too creamy. The pigmentation is amazing and the color goes opaque in 2 coats.

If you are not a fan of true silver color but still want a similar color, check THIS nailpolish by Colorbar.

This nailpolish takes a bit effort to remove because of glitter in it.

Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml).

Lasts for 4-5 days without chipping and the shine tends to dull after around 4 days.

Overall, Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist in shade Silver Glimmer is a true silver color nailpolish with shimmer and minute holographic glitter. The shimmer makes this a dazzling color, different from normal metallic finish. The consistency is between liquid and creamy and pigmentation is good. It goes opaque in two coats. Wear time is ok, 4-5 days. One thing which could have been better is the brush. The brush is long but straight and makes the application messy around the curve of nail. Price is on high side but the quantity is also more, so it will last a really long time. If you are fond of silver colors, do give this one a try.

Colorbar Luxe Nail Lacquer ~ Heroine : Review, Swatch

Colorbar cosmetics recently revamped its entire nailpolish collection and I picked up a few shades. All the nailpolish range now have same packaging and some of the previous shades (like 24 ct collection or heavy metal collection) have been branded as ‘Arteffects range. I have already reviewed the following shades:

Snow White (2nd shade in pic above)- beautiful off-white color with heavy shimmer

Pinken Gold – gorgeous duochrome orange-pink color

Liquid Gold – unique antique bronze color

In this post I am reviewing a deep red color- Heroine (first one in pic above).

Price: Rs 250 for 12 ml

Colorbar Luxe Nail Lacquer Heroine Review

Colorbar Luxe nail lacquer comes in  thick, cube glass bottle with short brush. The nailpolish bottle looks attractive but feels heavy and bulky and takes up more space in stacking.  The brush cap is silver colored with ‘CB’ logo embossed on top. The shade name and other details are stickered at the bottom. The brush is short and wide and slightly rounded which helps in clean application.

Heroine is a beautiful deep red color with fainbrown tones. This is not a vibrant but mature kind of red, and looks absolutely gorgeous when applied. This shade is perfect for fall. It  The pigmentation is good and needs 2 coats for full opacity. One coat looks vibrant cherry red (similar to THIS Chambor nailpolish) and second coat gives the deeper color. The consistency is creamy and application is uniform and non streaky. The finish is glossy and it dries quick.

Unfortunately, the wear time is not so impressive. The Arteffects range is more long lasting than this. Tip wear started after 2 days and proper chipping started after 4 days. Pricewise it is okay for the quantity.

Overall, Colorbar Luxe Nailpolish comes in short, glass bottle which looks attractive but feels bulky. The brush is short and slightly rounded which helps in clean application. The consistency is creamy and pigmentation is good. It needs 2 coats for full color build up. Finish is glossy. The shade Heroine is a beautiful deep red color which will suit all skin tones.  This nailpolish is okay for its price as the quantity is big (12 ml). The only con is the wear time as it starts to chip after 3-4 days.

Colorbar Arteffects Nail Lacquer : Pinken Gold ~ Review & Swatch

Source

Colorbar has rebranded the previous 24 ct range of nailpolish as Arteffects range and I have a few shades of the 24 ct range with me. I have already reviewed a gorgeous bronze gold shade- Liquid Gold HERE and in this post I am reviewing my favorite shade of the collection- Pinken Gold.

Price: Rs 325 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Pinken Gold Review

Colorbar has standardized the nailpolish packaging and you won’t find any of the previous cuboidal packaging at the counters now. The pics below are of old packaging. The new packaging is thick, cube glass bottle which feels heavy (same as in THIS review). The brush is short and stout but wide to pick enough product for 1 coat application. The shade name is stickered at the bottom. Being a bit heavy and huge, it takes up more space in storage than the previous packaging..

Pinken gold is a beautiful dark pink color with gorgeous orange duochrome effect. It has gold and pink microshimmer which gives an added depth to this beautiful color. The consistency is sheer in 1 coat and takes 2-3 coats for full opacity, depending on the thickness of coats you apply.  It dries fast and there is no waiting time in between multiple coats application. Pinken Gold is a one of its kind shade with prominent duochrome effect. If you are fond of pink colors, do check this one. The shade is quite different and unique from other shades in Indian market.  This nailpolish will suit all skin tones.

Wear time for this nailpolish is good and tip wear starts after 2-3 days  (without top coat) on my dominant hand. Proper chipping sets in after 5-6 days. Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle (12 ml) so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml).

There are many naipolish in market claimed to have duochrome effect. But if you want true duochrome action, this is the nailpolish to look for.

Overall, Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nailpolish comes in short, glass bottle which feels bulky and heavy compared to Colorbar’s previous packaging. The brush is short and slightly rounded which helps in clean application. The consistency is sheer and needs 3 coats for full coverage. Price wise, this nailpolish is okay for its price as the quantity is big (12 ml). The shade Pinken Gold is a gorgeous pink color with orange duochrome effect. It has pink and golden microglitter which adds a subtle depth to the color.  It lasts 5-6 days with tip wear setting after 2-3 day (without top coat). It will suit all Indian skin tones. You don’t get to see true duochrome shades in Indian market and this one is worth the buy. I will definitely repurchase.

Liquid gold is a beautiful bronze gold color with pink and gold microshimmer. It has a pearly finish and does not have a dazzling shine, which makes it more attractive in my opinion as it gives the nails a rustic look. The consistency is quite sheer and takes 3 coats for full opacity. Colorbar claimed 24 ct range had duochrome effect, and to be honest I didn’t see any duochrome action with this nailpolish. But this is a beautiful shade nevertheless. Liquid Gold is not a bright color and if you like subtle shades, definitely check this one. This nailpolish will suit all skin tones, especially dusky skin beauties.

Wear time for this nailpolish is okay and tip wear starts after 1 day (without top coat). Proper chipping sets in after 3-4 days. Price wise, it is okay for the quantity (12 ml).

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer ~ Snow White : Review & Swatch

Colorbar has changed its nailpolish packaging and launched some new range. Arteffects range of Colorbar nailpolish has some of the old shades (24 ct collection & Heavy metal collection) and some new shades.

I am reviewing a beautiful glitter off-white shade from Colorbar Arteffects range in this post- Snow White 26.

Price: Rs 325 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Snow White Review

Colorbar has changed its nailpolish packaging and now all the range have same packaging- thick, cube glass bottle with short brush. The nailpolish bottle feels heavy and bulky and honestly I liked the previous bottle more. Stacking of these nailpolish now takes up more space (I had to carry 5-6 while moving from Delhi to Mumbai, so I know how inconvenient this packaging is especially for travel).  The brush cap is silver colored with ‘CB’ logo embossed at the top. The shade name and other details are stickered at the bottom. The brush is short and wide and slighly rounded which helps in clean application (I ike rounded brush like THESE).

The pigmentation is slightly sheer and needs 3 coats for full opacity. Being sheer, this may also be used as a top coat. This nailpolish feel smooth to touch and not at all  gritty or sand textured like other glitter nailpolish.

Snow White is a beautiful off white color with heavy shimmer. The glitter is very fine so it doesnot stand out against the nailpolish like THIS nailpolish, but gives a beautiful dimension to the overall color. The small glitter are holographic and the holographic effect is slightly visible in pic at the top of this post. Being holographic, the shimmer appears to be multicolor and looks beautiful against the off white color. This shade is a beautiful alternative to silver and white colors.

Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml). Tip wear is after 2 days and proper chipping starts after 4-5 days.

I have used this nailpolish in Christmas nail art I did recently HERE.

I am in love with this shade. This is such a nice alternative to white and silver. I will repurchase this color, though I think this bottle will last fairly a long time.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish ~ Rock the Night 117: Review & Swatch

Glitter nailpolishes scream party and with all the festivity in the air, they are perfect to adorn at this time of the year. Party Girl collection from Maybelline colorshow has been around for sometime and I have already reviewed 3 of the shades: Tequila Sunrise, Fireworks and Party Lights. In this post I am reviewing another gorgeous shade: Rock the Night 117

Pssst! My love for Glitter nailpolish can be seen HERE 😀

Price: Rs 175 for 6 ml

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish Rock the Night 117 Review

Rock the Night 117 is a beautiful dark blue nail polish with dark blue  hexagonals and golden shimer suspended in a sheer blue baseThe nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful golden-peacock bluish sheen. Maybelline Party girl range of nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. The dark blue hexagonals against a blue base gives an overall  diffused shimmer to this shade.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer. But if applied properly,  one coat looks beautiful on its own.

Rock the Night 117 being glitter nailpolish, its removal can be quite a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE.

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite okay, as I don’t expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Overall, Rock the Night 117 is a beautiful dark blue glitter nailpolish with a golden-peacock blue sheen. This nailpolish is loaded with glitter and 2 coats give full coverage. This is a beautiful color to glamour up the nails. Party Lights range of Maybelline Colorshow is my favorite so far and I will keep on repurchasing the shades.

Every girl must own a few glitter polish to glamour up the nails every now and then, and Maybelline has some amazing glitter nailpolish selection. Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year in their Colorshow range. This range has gorgeous glitter shades with different color palette. I have already reviewed two shades of this range before : Tequila Sunrise (1st in pic above) and Fireworks (3rd in pic above). In this post I am reviewing another beautiful shade: Party Lights 118

Price: Rs 175 for 6 ml

Party Lights 118 is a beautiful silverish purple color nail polish with purple hexagonals and glitter suspended in a purple baseThe nailpolish has silver shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful silverish sheen making it look like foil nailpolish. This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. The purple glitter and hexagonals doesnot look stark against the base color like in other shades of this range. Instead, it gives a beautiful diffused shimmer to this shade.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2-3 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer.
