Kiko Milano Holographic Nail Lacquer ~ 004 Review & Swatch

So we finally have a holographic nailpolish in India. *Yay* I was always tempted to get a holo nailpolish whenever I stumbled upon the gorgeous swatches of foreign brands. But the Indian brands are not truly up to the mark as compared to nailpolish game abroad. So one thing I like about Kiko Milano (which is still realtively new in Indian market) is that they launch new products in India about the same time they launch internationally. Holographic range was launched in Sept/Oct last year and I picked this beautiful purple shade 004. There are only 6 shades in this range and all the colors are pastel colored and not too bright. This is probably to bring out the holo effect more intensely.

To be honest, when I tried this nailpolish in the store I didn’t take much shine to it as I was expecting more bright colors but among the options available, this one seemed best. However, when I applied this nailpolish at home the first time, I was awestruck with its beauty. See the swatches below and you will know why.

Price: Rs 550 for 10 ml

Kiko Milano Holographic nail lacquer 004 review

Kiko Milano Holographic Nail Lacquer comes in round glass bottle with black cap. The cap is removable and the brush cap is underneath. Shade number and other details are stickered at the back in form of booklet (which has 6 pages btw!). The brush is short and not too wide but picks up enough quantity for one coat application.

Pigmentation is amazing and formula is smooth and easy to apply. It builds to full opacity in 1-2 coats, depending on how thick coats you apply. It dries fairly quickly and there is no waiting between application of  multiple coats.

Kiko Milano Holographic nail polish in shade 004 is a pastel lavender purple color with beautiful holographic microshimmer. The holo effect is heavily visible under  sunlight/ flash and faintly visible indoors. The holo effect is not in-your-face kind, but is subtle and fine.  I have taken pics under different lighting to show the depth of holo. The pics taken indoor are a tad darker than the actual color, which is pastel. Most of the pics are taken indoor in natural sunlight, unless stated otherwise.

The nailpolish stays put for 3 days without tip wear and 5 days without chipping. Price wise this is a bit expensive nailpolish, but I didn’t mind the price as I was too excited to be trying a holo nailpolish; plus the quantity is quite big.

If you are not much into holo effect and like glitter nailpolish more, do check out my favorite purple glitter nailpolish  HERE.

Do check my instagram video at the end of this post to see the Holographic effect in action.

Overall, I am in LOVE with this nailpolish! Kiko Milano holographic nailpolish comes in a sturdy, round bottle with black cap. The brush is wide and picks enough product for one coat. The pigmentation is amazing and goes fully opaque in 2-3 coats. It dries quickly and lasts 5 days without chipping.  The shade 004 is a beautiful lavender color with gorgeous holographic shimmer. The shimmer is more profound in sunlight/flash. This is the first holographic nailpolish in India and I am in love. Though I wish these came in more colors.

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer ~ Liquid Gold : Review & Swatch

Image taken from Colorbar website

I bought a few shades from 24 ct range of Colorbar nailpolish when they hadn’t revamped their nailpolish packaging. I think this was an amazing range with wide variety of gold shades. But now Colorbar has rebranded these shades under their Arteffects nailpolish range.  The packaging of Liquid Gold is like the pic above. I have reviewed another gorgeous shade from Arteffects range HERE.

Price: Rs 325 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Liquid Gold Review

Colorbar has standardized the nailpolish packaging. The pics below are of old packaging. The new packaging is thick, cube glass bottle which feels heavy . The brush is short and stout but wide enough to pick enough product for 1 coat application. The shade name is stickered at the bottom.

Liquid gold is a beautiful bronze gold color with pink and gold microshimmer. It has a pearly finish and does not have a dazzling shine, which makes it more attractive in my opinion as it gives the nails a rustic look. The consistency is quite sheer and takes 3 coats for full opacity. Colorbar claimed 24 ct range had duochrome effect, and to be honest I didn’t see any duochrome action with this nailpolish. But this is a beautiful shade nevertheless. Liquid Gold is not a bright color and if you like subtle shades, definitely check this one. This nailpolish will suit all skin tones, especially dusky skin beauties.

Wear time for this nailpolish is okay and tip wear starts after 1 day (without top coat). Proper chipping sets in after 3-4 days. Price wise, it is okay for the quantity (12 ml).

Overall, Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nailpolish comes in short, glass bottle which feels bulky and heavy compared to Colorbar’s previous packaging. The brush is short and slightly rounded which helps in clean application. The consistency is sheer and needs 3 coats for full coverage. Price wise, this nailpolish is okay for its price as the quantity is big (12 ml). The shade Liquid Gold is a beautiful bronze gold color with pink and golden microglitter.  It lasts 4-5 days with tip wear setting after 1 day (without top coat). This is not a bright shade and will suit all Indian skintones.

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer ~ Snow White : Review & Swatch

Colorbar has changed its nailpolish packaging and launched some new range. Arteffects range of Colorbar nailpolish has some of the old shades (24 ct collection & Heavy metal collection) and some new shades.

I am reviewing a beautiful glitter off-white shade from Colorbar Arteffects range in this post- Snow White 26.

Price: Rs 325 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Snow White Review

Colorbar has changed its nailpolish packaging and now all the range have same packaging- thick, cube glass bottle with short brush. The nailpolish bottle feels heavy and bulky and honestly I liked the previous bottle more. Stacking of these nailpolish now takes up more space (I had to carry 5-6 while moving from Delhi to Mumbai, so I know how inconvenient this packaging is especially for travel).  The brush cap is silver colored with ‘CB’ logo embossed at the top. The shade name and other details are stickered at the bottom. The brush is short and wide and slighly rounded which helps in clean application (I ike rounded brush like THESE).

The pigmentation is slightly sheer and needs 3 coats for full opacity. Being sheer, this may also be used as a top coat. This nailpolish feel smooth to touch and not at all  gritty or sand textured like other glitter nailpolish.

Snow White is a beautiful off white color with heavy shimmer. The glitter is very fine so it doesnot stand out against the nailpolish like THIS nailpolish, but gives a beautiful dimension to the overall color. The small glitter are holographic and the holographic effect is slightly visible in pic at the top of this post. Being holographic, the shimmer appears to be multicolor and looks beautiful against the off white color. This shade is a beautiful alternative to silver and white colors.

Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml). Tip wear is after 2 days and proper chipping starts after 4-5 days.

I have used this nailpolish in Christmas nail art I did recently HERE.

The shade Snow White is a gorgeous off white shade with holographic  small glitter which gives it a beautiful dimension. It lasts 4-5 days with tip wear setting after 2 days. I am in love with this shade. This is such a nice alternative to white and silver. I will repurchase this color, though I think this bottle will last fairly a long time.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish ~ Rock the Night 117: Review & Swatch

Glitter nailpolishes scream party and with all the festivity in the air, they are perfect to adorn at this time of the year. Party Girl collection from Maybelline colorshow has been around for sometime and I have already reviewed 3 of the shades: Tequila Sunrise, Fireworks and Party Lights. In this post I am reviewing another gorgeous shade: Rock the Night 117

Pssst! My love for Glitter nailpolish can be seen HERE 😀

Price: Rs 175 for 6 ml

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish Rock the Night 117 Review

Rock the Night 117 is a beautiful dark blue nail polish with dark blue  hexagonals and golden shimer suspended in a sheer blue baseThe nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful golden-peacock bluish sheen. Maybelline Party girl range of nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. The dark blue hexagonals against a blue base gives an overall  diffused shimmer to this shade.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer. But if applied properly,  one coat looks beautiful on its own.

Rock the Night 117 being glitter nailpolish, its removal can be quite a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE.

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite okay, as I don’t expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Overall, Rock the Night 117 is a beautiful dark blue glitter nailpolish with a golden-peacock blue sheen. This nailpolish is loaded with glitter and 2 coats give full coverage. This is a beautiful color to glamour up the nails. Party Lights range of Maybelline Colorshow is my favorite so far and I will keep on repurchasing the shades.

In this post I am reviewing another beautiful shade: Party Lights 118

Party Lights 118 is a beautiful silverish purple color nail polish with purple hexagonals and glitter suspended in a purple baseThe nailpolish has silver shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful silverish sheen making it look like foil nailpolish. This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. Instead, it gives a beautiful diffused shimmer to this shade.

Fireworks 114 is a berry pink colored nail polish with chunks of glitter. This nailpolish has magenta, black and golden micro shimmer with golden and magenta chunky hexagonals suspended in a semi transparent dark pink base. Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Tequila Sunrise ~ Swatch & Review

Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year towards the end and I have been meaning to review them on my blog ever since. This is such a stunning collection and anyone who loves glitter polish will go bonkers. I myself had to control myself from buying too many shades (I only picked 4 :P) I will review the shades I have and here I am reviewing my favorite shade from the collection : Tequila Sunrise 112

Pssst! My love for Glitter nailpolish can be seen HERE 😀

Price: Rs 175

Tequila Sunrise 112 is a beautiful rose gold-pinkish nail polish with rose gold hexagonals and glitter. The nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful rose gold sheen. This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer, but it is high on golden shimmer so you can wear one coat also.

The shade is more golden and light pink as compared too swatches below which are more pink and less gold.

Tequila Sunrise 112 being glitter nailpolish, its removal can be quite a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite ok, as I dont expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Maybelline Colorshow Gold Digger nail polish ~ Gilded Rose 903: Review & Swatch

Maybelline gold digger

Maybelline has an entire range on gold themed nail colors: Gold Digger Collection, and I am reviewing a beautiful peach color nailpolish from this range ~ Gilded Rose 903

I have reviewed the first three shades in the pic above HERE, HERE and HERE

Price: Rs 145

maybelline-gilded-rose

Gilded Rose 903 is a peach colored nail polish with sugar texture.

It comes in classic Colorshow packaging: cylindrical transparent bottle with black cap and name engraved on top. The brush is decent but not great. Gilded Rose is a peach colored nail polish with peach and golden shimmer. This is not as bling shade as some of the OTHERS in this collection, but it is a good shade if you like subtle colors. However, this shade can make hands look dark, so try it at the counters before you purchase.

People confuse this shade of Gold Digger collection with  ‘Pink Champagne’ shade of the previous Glitter Mania collection. There is a difference between the two shades, the latter being more blingy and rose gold in color, and Gilded rose is peachy in color with toned down bling. Also, there is no chunky glitter in Gilded Rose. The texture however, is the same. Personally, I like Pink Champagne shade more.

This is not a top coat, and it takes 2-3 coats to build the color. The tip wear starts after 3-4 days. Being a glitter nailpolish, its removal is quite a pain. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE

Maybelline Colorshow Gold Digger nail polish ~ Gold Gluttony 905: Review & Swatch

Maybelline gold digger

Maybelline has an entire range on gold themed nail colors: Gold Digger Collection, and I am reviewing a stunning top coat from this range ~ Gold Gluttony 905

I have reviewed the first two shades in the pic above HERE and HERE

Price: Rs 145

gold gluttony nail polish maybelline

Gold Gluttony is a transparent nail polish with chunks of gold flakes of different sizes. This is a top coat and looks great on both light as well as dark base colors. This is a no-fuss nail polish which can take your manicure up a notch in no time.

It comes in classic Colorshow packaging: cylindrical transparent bottle with black cap and name engraved on top. The brush is decent but not great. I think the brush could have been wider to pick such chunky gold leaves effectively. Sometimes, I am left with only 1-2 gold specks in one coat and so have to place the gold flakes individually on each nail. Also, using multiple coats to load up on the bling makes it gloopy and slow to dry.

Other than that, it is a great nail polish to bling up the manicure. I always wanted a nailpolish like this- gold chunky leaf glitter, and this one is a great budget option to have.

Being a glitter nailpolish, its removal is quite a pain. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE

Colorbar Heavy Metal Nail Polish : Pink Topaz 006 ~ Review & Swatch

Colorbar Heavy metal nail polish

Colorbar has recently launched a new range of Nail polish- the Heavy Metal Collection. There are seven beautiful shades in this collection and I couldn’t help but pick one shade myself. I bought the shade Pink Topaz 006 and I will be reviewing it here.

This is how Colorbar describes Heavy Metal nail polish

Sparkle like a gemstone wherever you go! Embrace the richness of deep and heavy pearl toned shades that add character to your nails and give that heavy metal effect. The shades reflect the personality of the popular gemstones hand-picked to suit Indian skin types. The stark contrast of the shades against your nails make them look attractive instantly and they look like beautiful gemstones. The formula is intense yet fast-drying with deep intensity of self-pearls and high shine. In just a single stroke your nails are enveloped in irresistible and trend-setting metal shades of the future. What’s more is that the formula has an excellent drying time along with being 3-free, long-lasting, non-yellowing and chip-resistant.

Price: Rs 300 for 9 ml

Colorbar Heavy Metal nail polish comes in a rectangular bottle with shade name sticker on top of the cap.The cap has a colorful wavy art design which is signature to this range. The brush is decent and picks enough nail polish for one stroke application.

Pink Topaz 006 is a beautiful deep onion pink color with pearl finish. This polish is sheer in one coat and it takes 3-4 coats to build to full opacity. Pearl finish nail polish tend to be streaky, but this one is not at all streaky. This nail polish is fast drying, so you do not have to wait much between the coats. The staying power of this nail polish is good. I did not see any tip wear for 3 days and chipping started only after 5 days.

Even though I picked one color (for now ;)), the other shades worth checking out are : Emerald Heights (emerald color), Chrome Sapphire (Yellowish gold) and Garnet mist (maroonish-brown).

Colorbar heavy metal pink topaz

This nail polish looks more pink in some of the swatches above, but it is more deep and purplish pink in color

Final Thoughts

Heavy Metal range by Colorbar consists of beautiful deep colors with pearl finish.  Pink Topaz 006 is a deep onion pink color with beautiful pearl finish. This nail polish is fast drying and fairly long lasting. Even though the consistency is sheer, the color is buildable in 3-4 coats. Only thing is, it could have been a little cheaper. The quantity is same as the Colorbar Exclusive nail polish range, only they have introduced new colors. Other than that, the formula and color is excellent. I will probably purchase more colors of this range
